Privacy Policy

1. Overview

jsondecode.com (“we”, “our”, “the site”) is operated by 011BQ. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how it is processed, and your rights.

The short version: Most tools on this site run entirely in your browser and send nothing to our servers. The AI conversion tools (JSON to TypeScript, YAML, CSV, etc.) send your JSON input to OpenAI to generate the result. The contact form collects the information you submit. We have no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party analytics.

2. Data We Collect

2a. Browser-only tools (no data collected)

The following tools process all data locally in your browser. No input is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party:

2b. AI conversion tools (JSON sent to OpenAI)

When you use an AI-powered conversion tool (JSON to TypeScript, JSON to YAML, JSON to CSV, JSON to Python, JSON to SQL, JSON to Markdown Table, JSON to BigQuery Schema, JSON to React Flow, JSON to Go BSON), the JSON you paste into the input field is transmitted to our server at /api/chat, which proxies the request to OpenAI’s API (GPT-4o mini).

What this means:

• Your JSON input is processed by OpenAI and subject to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
• We do not store your JSON input on our servers. The request is forwarded and the response returned; no copy is retained.
• Do not paste sensitive, personal, confidential, or proprietary data into the AI conversion tools.
• OpenAI may use API inputs to improve their models unless you have opted out under their enterprise terms. We use a standard API key without data training opt-out. Treat AI tool input accordingly.

2c. Contact form

When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and message. This data is stored via our internal lead management system and used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not sell or share this data with third parties.

2d. Server logs

Our hosting provider automatically logs standard HTTP request data: IP address, browser user-agent, URL accessed, and timestamp. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention and are not used for marketing or profiling.

3. Cookies

jsondecode.com does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar service.

Your browser may set session-level storage (localStorage or sessionStorage) to preserve your editor state between page loads. This data never leaves your device.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you have the following rights regarding any personal data we hold:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
• Restriction: Ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved.
• Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• California residents: Under CCPA, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

6. Data Retention

• AI tool inputs: Not retained. Forwarded to OpenAI and discarded.
• Contact form submissions: Retained for up to 2 years or until you request deletion.
• Server logs: Retained for up to 30 days.

7. Children’s Privacy

jsondecode.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
